Costa Teguise - Home

I was awake just before 8 AM. After a shower and breakfast I packed my last stuff. I sat outside for a while before saying goodbye to my neighbors. Workers were busy finishing the connection to have wireless internet everywhere on the complex. Around 9.15 AM I handed in the key and drove to the airport. In the garage opposite the entrance of the airport I delivered my car, after I had filled the tank with gasoline. After fifteen minutes I was in the departure hall. It turned out to be busy with flights, because there were dozens of them planned. There were also 46 check-in counters, so not exactly a small airport.

I joined the already long line for the flight home. It certainly did not go smoothly, but after 3 quarters of an hour I could continue to the border baggage check. Did not go too fast, but in the end I could walk to the departure hall. You first walked through the duty-free store. There is already a separate tax system on the island that deviates from the normal Spanish and European system. This is probably because otherwise it will be much too expensive, because most of it has to be supplied from outside the island.

I smoked a cigar on an outside platform.

The plane had to leave at noon, but had a delay of half an hour. The flight lasted almost 4½ hours and was back at Schiphol at around 5.15 PM. After a long walk through the airport, I picked up my bag and went straight home in the train. It was only 10 °C. Around 7 PM I was home again and this short journey was over.
