My name is Alfred Heeroma. I started to travel on my own around 1981. First in my home country the Netherlands, later Belgium and some
other European countries. But I was more attracted by countries further away. Soon I went to the other end of the world to countries like
Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, but also western United States, Thailand and Singapore. Later I put my attention to southern Africa
(South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania etc.). I also went other parts of America like Chili in South America and Mexico and
Costa Rica in Central America. In the meantime I also visited Mali and Ghana in Western Africa.
Except travelling these countries, another hobby is scuba diving. I learned it in 1991 while travelling Egypt (Africa). I returned many
times to this country to explore the underwater world with the company of two buddies. Nowadays I try to dive in countries that I visit,
of course only if it is possible.
Of course there are too many places in the world to visit them all, but I'll try to visit as many as possible. During most of my travels
I kept a diary, but always these ended up in my personal archive, lost for any kind of purpose. So I decided to blow of the dust
of these travel stories. I'll be working backwards in time and start with my latest travels. Of course on Internet many travel stories are
told and with a search engine, most of them can be find, but I'll try to put links to them on this site later on.
I hope you enjoy your time on this site, which will grow during time. If you have any suggestions, please
contact me.
